Happy New Year!

Hello friends,

Life happens in chapters, right? I look back and see the hockey years, family years, my college years. Before Covid, I was in the adventure years. Exploring the world and climbing mountains while juggling a rewarding career, with a healthy family. Like many, during the beginning of Covid, I lost myself. I often thought, “where did my life go?”

Since March 2020, it felt like I was at the bottom of a well at times, without a rope. I know many people share this feeling/view with me, I am not alone here. Then, I left my job at the end of 2022 and considered 2023 a part time job to focus on my health, both physically and mentally. I’m proud of myself for grabbing the rope and climbing out of the well. I have done the work and finally recognize the person that I see in the mirror.

I have embraced acupuncture, energy work, and body alignment twice monthly. Committing to six yoga classes a week, teaching two and taking four to continue deepening my asana practice. In October I made a big nutrition shift. I’m so happy to see some friends are starting to follow my lead. We are all feeling better every day!

I am content. Living slowly and with intention.

This brings me to today.

Since November I have been doing a lot of ‘off the mat’ work. Meditation, journalling, workshops… pairing this with my love of creating experiences, I see a version of a decade old dream coming into focus.

I have a few events in the works for 2024, including pop up yoga, Zen Morning, and will continue to host retreats and events at our property. If you are interested in joining us, please follow me on Instagram or sign up for my newsletter. These are the best places to stay connected.

Going forward, I hope to share the highlights of my journey here on the blog. What I’m learning, experimenting with, my focus on mobility and stability, vegetarian life and my love of sourdough. You may also be interested in how I lost what I lovingly call my ‘Grandad weight’, what I’m reading, or what slow living looks like in my home. I would love to hear from you. What would you like me to share?

With love and gratitude,

Mari
